Twitter Cannot Change Name in App Store Even Though Logo Has Been Changed, Why?

Dream - Twitter owner Elon Musk made a surprising announcement. He changed the Twitter logo, which had a distinctive bird image, to the "X" logo.

The "X" logo will even be displayed on Monday, July 24, 2023. This was announced directly by Musk in his tweet.

"Interim X logo is displayed today," said Musk.

Not only that, Musk informed that users can now connect to the Twitter social media through the X.com website address.

"X.com now redirects to Twitter.com," he wrote.

Previously, Elon Musk had hinted at changing the Twitter logo. He once wrote "goodbye" to the old logo and also posted a short video featuring the X icon.

"And soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds," Musk wrote.

Meanwhile, new Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino also wrote about the X logo that Twitter will use. According to her, the change in the logo presents a rare opportunity in the business world.

"This is a very rare thing - in life or business - you get a second chance to make another big impression," Musk said.

"Twitter made one big impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global city square," he continued.

According to Reuters, under Musk's tumultuous tenure since buying Twitter in October 2022, the company has changed its business name to X Corp, reflecting the billionaire's vision to create "super apps" like WeChat in China.

Recently, the company also faced widespread criticism from users and marketing professionals when Musk announced that Twitter would limit the number of tweets per day that various accounts can read.

However, on the other hand, the daily limit actually helped Threads, a rival service owned by Meta Platforms (META.O), surpass 100 million registrations within five days since its launch on July 5, 2023.
