"Dream - Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana dismisses the assumption that the decision to increase Performance Allowance (Tukin) for employees of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) was intentionally made on the day before the 2024 Election voting."

"He explained that the decision to increase Tukin (additional salary for civil servants) is based on the assessment of the bureaucracy reform index of the General Secretariat of Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency) by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform in 2021. The result shows that the bureaucracy reform index of Bawaslu has increased from 68.80 to 72.95 in 2022."

Ari also ensures that the Ministry of Finance has approved the amount of salary increase for Bawaslu employees. The policy of salary increase also occurs in other ministries/agencies according to the proposal of Kemenpan-RB.

"The amount of the Tukin increase has also received approval from the Ministry of Finance," said Ari. Previously, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi raised the performance allowance (Tukin) for employees in the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu). The decision to increase the Tukin for Bawaslu employees was made two days before the 2024 Election voting day."

The decision on the increase of Employee Allowance in Bawaslu is stated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 18 of 2024 regarding Employee Performance Allowance in the Secretariat General of the Election Supervisory Agency. This regulation was signed by Jokowi on Monday, February 12, 2024, or two days before the implementation of the 2024 Election voting on February 14, 2024.

The increase in employee allowances in Bawaslu varies according to job class. Ahead of the 2024 Election, the smallest amount of allowance received by Bawaslu employees is Rp1,968,000. Meanwhile, the largest amount can reach Rp29,085,000.
