Dream - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed the cause of rice scarcity and the resulting price increase. According to Erick, the prices of food commodities worldwide are currently rising. This also triggers a rise in rice prices in Indonesia.
"He sees that the price of rice is expensive not only happening in the homeland, but also in several other countries that are also in need of rice supplies."

Erick Thohir said when reviewing rice sales at Ramayana Klender, Jakarta, quoted from Liputan6.com, Monday, February 12, 2024.
Then, one of the factors that affects the expensive price of rice is the escalating global geopolitical condition.
"For that reason, the government is taking stabilization measures by once again flooding the market with stock."
"So this dynamic does happen. Yes, of course the government anticipated it earlier, we flooded the market again, but of course it's up to the people to choose what type of rice they want to buy, according to their individual needs."
