Respons Keluhan Masyarakat, Garuda Indonesia Turunkan Harga Tiket Pesawat

"Respons Keluhan Masyarakat, Garuda Indonesia Turunkan Harga Tiket Pesawat" translates to "Response to Public Complaints, Garuda Indonesia Lowers Airline Ticket Prices"

Dream - President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Irfan Setiaputra revealed that he has lowered the price of airplane tickets, following public complaints about the expensive ticket prices.

He said initially the company did not plan to lower ticket prices, but they still listened to input from the public. "Many officials conveyed that ticket prices are still expensive, initially we insisted on holding on, I directly told Minister not to ask us to lower prices, I didn't want to hear anything else, but this is also the voice of the public," said Irfan quoted from Liputan6.com, Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

As for the ticket price that has decreased, it is for domestic flights on specific routes, days, and times. One of them is the flight route to Bali.

"I take the example of Bali. Bali always has a price of Rp 1.9 million for economy class. On Sundays, if you go to Bali, it can be Rp 1.3 million for a one-way trip. The return trip on Thursday is Rp 1.3 million. On other days, it remains Rp 1.9 million."

"bebernya" in English is "some of it."

Garuda Indonesia encourages the public to go to Bali on Sunday and return on Thursday. The airline even collaborates with hotels that fly on that day.

"So we are also promoting the best time to go to Bali which is to come on Sunday and return on Thursday. We are also collaborating with several hotels to provide special discounts for Garuda passengers who come on Sunday and return on Thursday."

"imbuhnya." translates to "addition."

"Previously, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) stated that it is currently evaluating the upper limit tariff (TBA) and lower limit tariff (TBB) for scheduled flights. This follows a proposal from the Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA) to hand over the airline ticket tariffs to market mechanisms. The Secretary of the Director General of Air Transportation at Kemenhub, Sigit Hani Hadiyanto, stated that this evaluation is being conducted in line with the proposal from INACA."

"Regarding the rates or tickets, the government is currently evaluating," said Sigit some time ago. Sigit did not provide further explanation regarding the evaluation, but he mentioned that INACA's aspirations will be taken into consideration."

General Chairman of INACA, Denon Prawiraatmadja, hopes that the Ministry of Transportation can remove the upper limit tariff (TBA) and lower limit tariff (TBB) regulations for scheduled flight tickets. He wants the price of flight tickets to be determined by market mechanisms. "Indeed, we hope that ticket fares are handed over to market mechanisms," said Denon.
