Widi explained that these three deceased hajj pilgrims will be substituted and receive insurance from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag). For regular hajj pilgrims, the insurance provided is life insurance and accident insurance.

The provisions for life and accident insurance for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are divided into three. First, in the event of the death of a Hajj pilgrim, insurance is provided in an amount equal to the minimum cost of the Hajj pilgrimage (BPIH) per embarkation. Second, in the event of an accident involving a pilgrim, insurance is provided twice the amount of BIPIH per embarkation.

"Next, pilgrims who experience permanent disability due to accidents will be given compensation and the amount varies between 2.5 - 100 percent of the BPIH per embarkation."

As for insurance management, it is carried out by the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah. The insurance company will pay the claim through a transfer to the pilgrims' account.

"Insurance covers from the moment Hajj pilgrims enter the Hajj embarkation dormitory until they return to the Hajj debarkation," said Widi. For your information, the number of Hajj pilgrims who are currently in Madinah until today, at 01.00 AM WIB, is 26,477 people divided into 67 flying groups. Today, there are 8,644 Hajj pilgrims flying to Saudi Arabia, divided into 22 flying groups and 11 Hajj embarkations."
