"Dream - The age of sunset is not a barrier for Harjo Mislan to fulfill the call to the Holy Land. At the age of 110, the grandfather from Bedingin Village, Sambit, Ponorogo, East Java, departed for hajj this year accompanied by his son."
"Mbah Harjo intends to go on a pilgrimage since 2017, coinciding with the time when the grandfather of 15 grandchildren performed the umrah pilgrimage. Since then, he started saving money and registering for the hajj pilgrimage."
According to Mbah Harjo, as reported by Jawa Pos on Monday, May 13, 2024.
Anak Mbah Harjo, Sirman, revealed that his father officially registered for the Hajj pilgrimage in 2019. At the age of over a century, Mbah Harjo was included in the priority list of elderly pilgrims.
This grandfather appears to still be energetic and enthusiastic in following the process of hajj pilgrimage. This 45 veteran fighter admits to frequently exercising to keep his body fit. He doesn't even need to use a wheelchair in his daily life.
'Formerly a veteran and actively involved in sports, enjoying a healthy lifestyle, perhaps that's what keeps him looking young,' said Sirman. Mbah Harjo's health was also evident during several Hajj rituals. Mbah Harjo was able to complete the entire Manasik process, including the practice of circumambulation (tawaf).
Although he experienced heart swelling some time ago, the doctor ensures that Mbah Harjo is eligible to participate in the series of Hajj worship. "Everything is in good condition, I will assist him during the journey," he said.
Congregants are asked to always wear footwear, take note and use identification, drink and eat regularly, and not hesitate to ask for assistance from the 2024 Hajj officers.
