Prosecutor Assesses Ferdy Sambo's Scenario for Killing Brigadier J Perfectly: Others Don't Know He's the Killer

Dream - The Public Prosecutor stated that Ferdy Sambo perfectly planned the murder of Brigadier J, also known as Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.

The statement was made by the prosecutor while reading the analysis of the charges in the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Initially, the prosecutor presented various facts from the trial that explained how Ferdy Sambo planned the murder of Brigadier J.

The same goes for the way Sambo eliminates evidence by threatening his subordinates and asking for the CCTV footage in Duren Tiga to be destroyed.

"Based on the legal evidence, the defendant Ferdy Sambo has perfectly planned the murder of Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat," said the prosecutor.

The prosecutor assessed that Ferdy Sambo had a time gap between finding out about the sexual harassment incident involving his wife, Putri Candrawathi, and the occurrence of the murder.

Sambo was considered to have had enough time to plan, including choosing the method to kill Brigadier J.

"Because in a sufficient amount of time, he has considered, weighed, and then determined the time, place, method, or weapon used for the murder," said the prosecutor.

The prosecutor also mentioned that Ferdy Sambo's efforts to cover his tracks were evident in order to prevent others from knowing who the perpetrator of the planned murder was.

"In this case, he has also thought about the consequences of the murder and other ways so that others would not easily know that he is the killer," the prosecutor stated.

"Whether he was calm or emotional when making the decision is not too important, what matters is that the sufficient time can no longer be seen as an immediate reaction that caused him to intend to commit the murder," the prosecutor added.

Former Kadiv Propam Polri, Ferdy Sambo, has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The prosecutor believes that Ferdy Sambo, along with other defendants, planned the murder of Brigadier J and tampered with electronic evidence.

"We demand that the panel of judges in the South Jakarta District Court, who are examining and adjudicating this case, declare the defendant Ferdy Sambo guilty of intentionally and premeditatedly taking someone else's life," said the prosecutor while reading the charges on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

"Imposing a life sentence on Ferdy Sambo," the prosecutor added.

Sambo is believed to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code. Sambo is also believed to have violated Article 49 in conjunction with Article 33 of Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code.

The prosecutor assessed that there is no justification or excuse for Sambo's actions. The prosecutor stated that Sambo must be held accountable for his actions.

"The defendant Ferdy Sambo can be held criminally responsible," said the prosecutor.

Aggravating factors for Sambo include taking Brigadier J's life, being evasive, not admitting to his actions, and tarnishing the reputation of the Indonesian National Police by involving many police officers. The prosecutor emphasized that there are no mitigating factors in the charges.
