Dream - The Honor Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) imposes a dismissal sanction against the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia, Hasyim Asy'ari, due to a sexual misconduct case.
The case originated from a complaint by a woman with the initials CAT to the DKPP because Hasyim Asy'ari prioritized personal interests and provided special treatment to the complainant who works as a member of the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) in The Hague, Netherlands.
In addition, Hasyim is also suspected of using power relations to approach and establish a relationship with CAT. "Imposing a permanent termination sanction on the accused Hasyim Asy'ari as the chairman and member of the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, effective from the reading of this verdict," said Chairman of the Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (DKPP) Heddy Lugito during the reading of the verdict at the DKPP office in Jakarta, as quoted from Liputan6.com, Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
The hearing of Case Number 90-PKE-DKPP/V/2024 started at 14.10 WIB and was opened by the Chairman of DKPP RI, Heddy Lugito. Hasyim attended the hearing virtually through the teleconference application Zoom.
Then how much is the salary of the Chairman of the KPU? Here are the details of the salary of the chairman and members of the KPU, starting from the central level, province, to the district/city:
"Gaji KPU" in English is "KPU Salary".
Salary of the Central KPU- Chairman of the KPU Rp43,110,000.00.- Member of the KPU Rp39,985,000.00 Salary of the Provincial KPU- Chairman of the KPU Rp20,215,000.00.- Member of the KPU Rp18,565,000.00 Salary of the District/City KPU- Chairman of the District/City KPU Rp12,823,000.00.- Salary of the KPU Member Rp11,573,000.00.
After the dismissal, DKPP asked President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo to replace Hasyim within a period of 7 days since the verdict was read. "The President of the Republic of Indonesia to implement this verdict no later than seven days since the verdict was read," he said. Finally, DKPP RI requested the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of the Republic of Indonesia to oversee the implementation of the verdict.
Before becoming the Chairman of the KPU, Hasyim served as a member of the KPU since 2016 for the term of 2012-2017. He was reappointed as a member of the KPU in 2017-2022.
