Dream - Sweet food is very hard to resist when you are on a healthy diet. However, sweet food contains high sugar and calorie levels that can increase body weight.
Not only that, high sugar content in sweet foods or drinks also makes you addicted and easily feel hungry. That is why consuming sweet foods and drinks should be avoided when trying to lose weight.
Although so, some people find it difficult to avoid sweet food and try to make snacks with healthier versions such as replacing granulated sugar with honey. Despite the claim that honey is considered healthier than granulated sugar, what is the difference between the two? Is honey really a suitable substitute for granulated sugar? Check out the explanation from Doctor Dion Haryadi below.
Actually, sugar and honey are both sweeteners that are classified as simple carbohydrates. However, their carbohydrate types are different.

Viewed in terms of calories, both are not much different. "Per 100 milli honey contains approximately 304 calories with 82 grams of additional sugar."
While, per 100 grams of granulated sugar contains almost 400 calories with 100 grams of additional sugar. Honey calories can be lower than granulated sugar because per 100 grams it still contains about 17 grams of water. Honey also contains a small amount of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that granulated sugar does not have, although the amount is not much.

"Both of them are actually equally good as long as you can consume them moderately". That means, Sahabat Dream still cannot consume honey excessively even though it is more organic, natural, has slightly lower calories, or has vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants compared to granulated sugar. Still limit the amount of consumption, okay!
