Arief said, in Law Number 7 of 2017 Regarding Elections, it does indeed allow the president to campaign. However, the scope of his campaign space is limited, namely when the president runs for re-election for the second time.
"Meaning, the president is allowed to campaign when their position is as a presidential candidate and not campaigning to promote a specific presidential candidate or the one they support."

Arief mentioned, the 2024 Presidential Election is different from the 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 General Elections. This difference lies in the alleged strong intervention from the central branch of executive power to support certain candidate pairs.
"There are allegations of intervention that tend to clearly support a particular candidate with all its political infrastructure," said Arief. Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that there are no rules prohibiting state officials from favoring and campaigning in support of a particular presidential candidate in the 2024 Election."
Jokowi emphasized that in response to the statement of Menko Polhukam Mahfud Md regarding the existence of a minister in Jokowi's cabinet who openly supports a certain candidate.

Jokowi added, if there is a minister or himself as president campaigning, then it is prohibited to use state facilities. "But the most important thing is that during the campaign, it is not allowed to use state facilities," he emphasized.
