Dream - Hasyim Asy'ari has been dismissed by the Election Organizer Honor Council (DKPP) as the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) due to ethical code violations in the form of indecent acts. This sanction was taken following a report from a woman with the initials CAT who is a member of the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) in The Hague, Netherlands.

CAT reports that Hasyim has used his position for personal gain and provided special treatment. One of the things Hasyim did, as revealed by DKPP, was buying CAT three plane tickets from Jakarta to the Netherlands.

According to DKPP, the total cost of the ticket reached Rp 100 million and this was acknowledged by Hasyim. "Based on the complainant's statement during the hearing, the respondent also facilitated round-trip plane tickets from Jakarta to the Netherlands three times with a total cost of Rp 100 million. This was acknowledged by the respondent who explained that the ticket costs were covered by his friend," said a member of DKPP quoted from Liputan6.com, Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Hasyim also provided goods worth Rp5,419 million to the complainant. "The defendant also provided the complainant with an Asus Zenscreen monitor screen worth Rp5,419 million," said DKPP.

DKPP asserts that the money used by Hasyim did not come from state funds. "Regarding the money used by the defendant to facilitate the complainant, it did not come from state finances," he continued.

"Although not using state funds, the DKPP assesses that it indicates a special relationship between the Chairman of the KPU and the complainant CAT. 'The facilities provided by the respondent to the complainant prove the existence of a personal relationship that is special between the respondent and the complainant, considering that similar facilities are not provided by the respondent to other election organizers,' said the DKPP."

The report is supported by the Legal Aid and Dispute Resolution Consultation Agency of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (LKBH-PPS FH UI) and the Legal Aid Agency of the Indonesian Women's Association for Justice (LBH APIK).

To follow up on the report, DKPP has summoned all relevant parties in accordance with the applicable provisions. Evidence of ethical code violations, including screenshots of conversations, photos, videos, and other evidence, has been submitted to DKPP RI.

"Maria Dianita Prosperianti, the victim's legal representative, explained that Hasyim Asy'ari's actions violated the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for the Conduct of Election Organizers as regulated in DKPP Regulation Number 2 of 2017."
