4 Interesting Facts About Sushi That Not Many People Know

"For you sushi lovers, do you know the interesting facts about the history of this delicious food? By frequently indulging in it, you might discover the following facts."

1. The Name Sushi Initially Not for Food

It sounds strange because we know sushi as a dish, right? Actually, sushi is not intended to be the name of a food.

1. Nama Sushi Awalnya Bukan untuk Makanan

Sushi itself is taken from the word 'Narezushi' which is a method of preserving fish through fermentation of sour rice, but in the end, only the fish is consumed. After a long time, that method was developed into 'sushi' which means 'sour' as a description of the taste of the food itself.

2. Has roots from China

The typical food of Japan apparently has a history that originated from another country, you know. In the 2nd century AD, China discovered a method of preserving fish that we know as Naresuzhi.

2. Has roots from China

The translation of the given text from Bahasa to English while preserving any HTML tags is as follows: "Residents of China have gradually stopped consuming preserved fish, so this method is no longer popular. As time passed, this preservation concept began to spread to Japan in the 8th century."

3. Starting from the Food of the Warriors

"Previously, 'narezushi' originated from street food that could only be enjoyed during festivals or major celebrations. This dish was also a staple food for soldiers at that time."

3. Berawal Dari Makanan Para Prajurit<br>

"Only after World War II, sushi became a luxurious restaurant food where chefs creatively produced more sushi variations, as we see today. It is no wonder that Japan takes great pride in sushi as its traditional dish."

"Inovasi Nigiri Sushi" translates to "Innovation Nigiri Sushi" in English.

The translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving the HTML tags is as follows: "This idea originated from a chef during the Edo period named Hanaya Yohei, who created the narezushi method by using vinegar-seasoned rice and adding fresh raw fish on top, without prior fermentation."
