- 250 grams of peeled walnuts - 1/2 teaspoon of tempeh yeast
Step 1First, pour the walnuts into a bowl. Add a little water until the walnuts are submerged, then cover the container and let it sit for 2 days.
After soaking, wash the walnuts thoroughly. Pour water into a pot and let it boil. Put the walnuts in, cover the pot, and boil for 1 hour.
"Drain the water and cool the walnuts for a few moments. Do not process the walnuts when they are too wet. If necessary, use a kitchen towel to absorb any remaining water and moisture from the walnuts."
Add tempeh yeast to walnuts, then mix well.
Use kitchen paper as a tablecloth. Then, take a zipper bag and make some small holes. Pour the walnuts into the zipper bag.
Close the zip lock and press the zipper bag until the walnuts are evenly distributed throughout. This is done to ensure that the tempeh is neatly shaped when it is to be processed. Then, let the tempeh mixture sit for 2 days at room temperature.
After 2 days of being left alone, cut the zipper bag and take out the tempeh. Cut the tempeh into several pieces before processing it by frying, steaming, or grilling.
