Dream - Cireng itself is an abbreviation of fried aci, which is a tapioca flour mixture that is fried until it becomes dry and crispy. Generally, cireng has a round or elongated shape with a chewy texture inside.
Usually cireng is served in the form of dry fritters or with chili sauce dip. There is also a type of cireng with a spicy and refreshing soup. You can make this snack at home. Here is the recipe.
Ingredients: 200 grams of tapioca flour. 50 grams of wheat flour. 1 teaspoon of salt. 1/2 teaspoon of powdered pepper. 1/2 teaspoon of powdered broth (optional). 150 ml of boiled water.
For Spicy Broth: 100 grams of roasted peanuts. 3 cloves of garlic. 2 red chili peppers (according to desired spiciness). 1 teaspoon of salt. 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar. 500 ml of water. Cooking oil for sautéing.
How to make: Prepare tapioca flour, wheat flour, salt, ground pepper, powdered broth (optional), peanuts, garlic, red chili, cooking oil, water, granulated sugar, fried onions, and scallions. Mix tapioca flour, wheat flour, salt, ground pepper, and powdered broth evenly in a bowl. Gradually add water until the dough forms and is not sticky. Shape the dough into desired sizes. Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the dough until golden brown.
Lift and drain the cireng. Grind peanuts, garlic, and red chili until smooth. Sauté the ground spices with a little oil until cooked and fragrant. Add water, salt, and sugar. Stir until the broth boils and thickens. Taste and adjust the flavor. Arrange the cireng on a serving plate. Pour the spicy broth over it. Sprinkle with fried onions and scallions. Source: Fimela.com
