Dream - Every Muslim certainly wants to perform the Hajj pilgrimage to the holy land, but not everyone has the opportunity to do so. To perform Hajj, there are requirements of istithaah (ability), both in terms of material (financial) and physical (health). In addition to istithaah, being able to perform the fifth pillar of Islam is a 'calling'. Because even those who are able in terms of material and physical may not be able to perform the Hajj pilgrimage if they have not been 'called'.
On the contrary, there are many people who appear to be financially incapable but are able to depart for the holy land. Just like Rohmat's experience, a prospective hajj pilgrim from Grobogan Regency, Central Java.
Saving from Selling Shrimp Paste
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The 63-year-old man works as a chili and shrimp paste seller. He runs his business with only Rp5,000 as capital. Years of hard work selling chili and shrimp paste have enabled him to go on a pilgrimage this year."
Rohmat said, the quantity of his sales is not large. He only sells small items at his home. The result is only enough to meet daily needs in a very simple way. However, this limitation does not become a barrier for Rohmat to strengthen his determination to perform Hajj.
A little bit of his daily income is set aside and saved in order to be able to go on a pilgrimage. Rohmat also enthusiastically tells the story of his life from the beginning as a "bakul" of shrimp paste and chili.
"I became a 'merchant' of shrimp paste, I definitely forgot what year it was, but I remember at that time my capital was only Rp5000 and I only rode a bicycle to 'wholesale' at the market and sold it back at home,"
The text translates to: "The word Rohmat is quoted from the Kemenag website, Friday, May 31, 2024."

"Alhamdulillah, my business has been growing little by little, and since around 1997, I have had the intention in my heart to register for Hajj."

Saving for about 15 years
Not long after, Rohmat continued to save his income little by little for approximately 15 years. Finally, in 2012, Rohmat was able to register for Hajj. Rohmat expressed his gratitude, as his dream of fulfilling this fifth pillar of Islam was fulfilled.
"Even though I had to wait for decades, I am very grateful that my dream of going on a pilgrimage can finally come true this year," she expressed.
