Dream - PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) is conducting a recall on its car models in Indonesia that are quite popular among consumers, namely Avanza, Veloz, Vios, Sienta, and Yaris Cross. Recall is a process of withdrawing the products for repair. The number of units listed for recall is quite significant, reaching 213,005 units.

Toyota also argues that recall is a common thing and shows Toyota's commitment to ensuring the quality of the products marketed and maintaining the safety of customers. "Recall may sound negative to some people, but Toyota sees it as a form of kaizen (continuous improvement) on vehicle conditions and responsibility for the products owned by customers," said Henry. Here are the components that are problematic in Toyota cars that are being recalled.

Toyota Sienta is a production year from June 2016 to April 2020, which needs to check and repair the Front Garnish Pillar Clip located on the front pillar (pillar A). Toyota sees the potential for water leakage in the front pillar due to suboptimal sealer performance, which poses a risk of disrupting the performance of certain electrical systems, such as the sliding electric door if the strength of the sealer is not immediately improved.

Toyota assesses that there may be a problem with the Front Shock Absorber Nut found in Veloz produced from October 2021 to August 2023, Toyota Avanza produced from November 2021 to September 2023, Vios produced from June 2022 to August 2023, and Yaris Cross produced from May to September 2023. Improper tightening instructions can cause the nut to become loose, resulting in abnormal noises or even detachment, causing loss of vehicle stability while driving on the road.
