"7 Virtues of Feeding People Who Fast at the Time of Breaking the Fast"

Dream - In the month of Ramadan, Muslims are not only focused on fasting, but also encouraged to increase their worship and acts of goodness, including the activity of distributing takjil (snacks) and feeding people during iftar (breaking the fast). Feeding those who are fasting for iftar is one of the noble deeds recommended in Islam. This practice not only earns great rewards, but also reflects high human values.

7 Virtues of Feeding People who are Fasting during Iftar Time

In this article, Dream will discuss the virtues of feeding people during iftar for those who are fasting in the month of Ramadan. This simple activity has a great impact in spreading goodness and uniting the Muslim community. Without further ado, let's explore the virtues of feeding people during iftar in creating a blessed Ramadan atmosphere.

1. Abundance of Rewards

The virtue of feeding people who are fasting for breaking the fast is to receive rewards like those who are fasting. As explained in the hadith, it means: From Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani radhiyallahu 'anhu, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said: "Whoever feeds a fasting person, he will have rewards like the one who is fasting, without reducing the rewards of the fasting person in the slightest." (HR. Tirmidzi)

2. Road to Heaven

The virtue of feeding others who break their fast is to receive rewards as a way to heaven. As mentioned in a hadith, which means: "From Ali ra, he said, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said: 'Indeed, in heaven there are rooms which the outside can be seen from the inside and the inside can be seen from the outside.' Then an Arab Bedouin stood up and said, 'For whom are those rooms intended, O Messenger of Allah?' The Prophet replied, 'For those who speak the truth, who give food, and who always fast and pray at night while people are asleep.' (HR. Tirmidhi)"

3. Obtaining the Blessings of Allah SWT

If accompanied by other acts of worship such as prayer and charity, providing food for those who break their fast will be a means for a person to obtain the pleasure of Allah SWT. Ibn Rajab Al-Hambali rahimahullah stated, "Fasting, prayer, and charity lead those who practice them to Allah. Some of the salaf even said that prayer leads a person halfway. Fasting leads them to the door of the king. Charity will eventually take them and lead them to the king." (Lathaif Al-Ma'arif, p. 298)

4. Wealth Becomes More Blessed

Feeding people who are fasting during iftar is considered a form of charity. Giving charity will not reduce the wealth of the giver. On the contrary, the doors of sustenance will open through charity. As mentioned in a hadith, "Charity does not decrease wealth." (HR. Muslim) Although it may physically decrease, the wealth that is given in charity will become a blessing. Thus, its deficiency will be covered by its blessings.

5. Erasing Sins

Feeding people who are fasting during the time of breaking their fast is also considered as an act of erasing sins. Prophet Muhammad mentioned that those who feed people who are fasting will erase their sins and bring forth the forgiveness of Allah. The month of Ramadan is full of forgiveness, so by feeding people who are fasting to break their fast is one of the efforts to seek forgiveness from Allah.

6. Humanity and Compassion

The activity of feeding people who are fasting during iftar also reflects the values of humanity and compassion towards others. This shows empathy and solidarity with those who may be less fortunate or have difficulty obtaining food during iftar.
