Kembang tahu, or often called tahok, is a type of original wedang from Central Java. The combination of soft tofu with warm ginger broth makes this dish provide a unique sensation of pleasure when enjoyed.
"Recipe for Tofu in Ginger Sauce"
Ingredients for Tofu Pudding:500 ml soy milk2-3 tablespoons of granulated sugar1 teaspoon of plain agar-agarA pinch of saltIngredients for Ginger Sauce:750 ml water½ cm crushed ginger130 grams of palm sugar or brown sugarPandan leaves (optional)A pinch of salt (optional)
How to make: The first step in making ginger tofu soup is to prepare a cooking pot. Then, add soy milk, sugar, agar-agar, and a pinch of salt into it. Turn on the stove and stir continuously until it forms tofu flowers. Make sure you keep stirring it until it boils, and there are no lumps. The second step, after the mixture boils, turn off the stove.
Then, put the tofu mixture into another container and let it cool. Cool the tofu mixture until it solidifies. You can put it in the refrigerator if you want the process to be faster. The third step, while waiting for the tofu mixture to solidify, start making the ginger soup. Prepare a pot, put in water, palm sugar, and crushed ginger. Add pandan leaves for a more delicious aroma.
"But, this process is optional, just do it according to taste. Next, sprinkle a little salt to enhance the savory taste of the broth. Cook until the broth boils, turn off the stove. The fourth step, serving stage. Arrange the solid tofu slices into a bowl. Slice according to taste to form an attractive tofu flower."
